Amazon extends international FBA shipment windows for peak season
Check which international FBA plans qualify for temporary shipment relief, then reconcile defect fees and reimbursements without counting expected credits as cash.
Amazon has announced temporary relief for qualifying international FBA shipment plans. For US sellers managing delayed inbound stock, the useful next step is to match each plan to its shipment records and any associated charges before assuming a credit is due.
What Amazon confirmed
Amazon's October 30, 2026 US announcement covers international shipment plans created August 1 through November 30, 2026. For eligible multi-destination plans, the remaining shipments can be received within 45 days of the first receipt, instead of 30, without the deleted or abandoned shipment defect fee. The automatic shipment closure window also increases to 90 days.
Amazon says an eligible defect can remain visible on the Inbound Performance Dashboard while its fee is waived. Qualifying fees already charged will be reimbursed automatically; sellers can check the Reimbursement report. No enrollment or request is required for the announced relief. Read Amazon's announcement.
Build one record per plan
The workflow below is Zeroth's analysis. It is a reconciliation method, not an Amazon eligibility decision or a promise of reimbursement.
Start with the plan ID and its actual creation timestamp. Add the destination shipment IDs, the first recorded receipt, later receipt events, any remaining in-transit shipments, and evidence of relevant charges. Keep the original records alongside your worksheet so another person can trace each value.
Do not substitute a purchase-order date, a carrier pickup, or a port arrival for the event you need to check. These dates describe different steps. If your records disagree, resolve the mismatch before assigning an eligibility label.
Use three working labels: evidence complete, evidence missing, and outside the announced scope. These are your review labels, not Seller Central statuses. A missing creation timestamp should produce a follow-up task, not a guessed date.
Keep shipment readiness separate from fee reconciliation. A possible credit does not put units on sale. For stock that has not arrived, maintain a conservative availability estimate and review replenishment against that estimate. Our FBA reorder-point guide shows how to use dated incoming stock without hiding a near-term stockout.
Reconcile charges without spending an expected credit
Consider a hypothetical review with these amounts. They are invented examples, not Amazon fee rates or estimates for your account.
| Plan | Charges | Matched credits |
|---|---|---|
| A | $240 | $150 |
| B | $180 | $0 |
| C | $120 | $120 |
| Total | $540 | $270 |
The arithmetic is straightforward: $540 in charges minus $270 in matched credits leaves $270 to reconcile. It does not establish that Amazon owes another $270. Some rows could contain an ineligible charge, an incorrect match, or missing evidence.
Assume A has complete supporting records, while B is missing the plan creation record. A has $90 unreconciled; B has $180. Assign A a follow-up to compare its remaining charge with the account's reimbursement details. Assign B an evidence-gathering task before estimating recovery. C can leave the financial review queue once the match is confirmed, even if a separate operational shipment issue still needs attention.
Match credits using the identifiers available in your reports; an equal dollar amount alone is weak evidence. Preserve the charge and credit dates, amounts, shipment references, and your reconciliation notes. If one credit covers multiple rows, document that allocation so it is not counted twice.
For cash planning, keep an unconfirmed recovery out of the money available to buy inventory. A report entry, a matched credit, and cash you can actually use are separate checkpoints. Record what you have verified at each one.
Set a follow-up that closes the loop
Give each unresolved row an owner, the exact missing evidence, and a next-check date. When account records appear inconsistent, gather the plan and shipment identifiers, receipt events, charge details, and existing support correspondence before asking Seller Support to clarify the specific discrepancy. This is an investigation step, not a requirement to activate the announced relief.
Keep assumptions visible. This short announcement does not supply a reimbursement completion date or enough detail to calculate every shipment's automatic closure timestamp. Use the current account record for those checks rather than inventing a countdown. Do not expand this temporary announcement into a waiver of unrelated fees or requirements.
For the next inbound review, ask two separate questions: where are the units, and what has happened to the money? Keeping those answers distinct makes it easier to resolve a shipment problem without treating an expected reimbursement as a completed result.
